This past week, I had the opportunity to be a student-for-a-day at Sonoran University, observing lectures, labs, and clinic.
I also took part in a series of mini-interviews with faculty and administrators, focused primarily on medical ethics. Once I was warmed up from those, I had my final interview with two doctors to discuss my readiness for the program and my desire to become a Naturopathic Doctor. I’m happy to share that the process went well, and I’m eager to begin with the Spring 2026 cohort. I received my acceptance letter today, April 21, 2025, with the condition of completing a few remaining prerequisite courses—courses I’m already registered for.
Two of my mentors have instilled in me a deep appreciation for Applied Kinesiology, sometimes referred to as muscle testing. Sonoran will nurture this curiosity through both coursework and student clubs! Thank you to Dr. John Keifer—may he rest in peace—and to Dr. Sheldon Deal, who sparked my interest in holistic wellness, including chiropractic care and Applied Kinesiology. I am also deeply grateful for Dr. Kelsey Asplin, my first Naturopathic Doctor and a true inspiration on this journey.
I look forward to learning, growing, and serving my community through holistic care—finding the balance together!
